Hullo on Blinkit

Hullo is stocked, and in-stock, across half of Blinkit — and sells in barely a tenth of the stores that carry it. This is what the shelf data says about why.

The read in one line

Stocked in half the network, selling in a tenth of it

Hullo’s hero bar is on shelf and in stock in roughly 970 stores — half the Blinkit network, more presence than several brands many times its size. It sells in about 1 of 9 of them. The rest keep it in stock the whole window without moving a unit.

Lens 1 · The competitive set

A top-heavy shelf, led by protein specialists

Value share concentrates hard: the top four brands take the overwhelming majority of category value, all of it protein-positioned. Hullo sits in the whole-food nutrition group, a separate and much smaller part of the shelf.

Lens 2 · Distribution vs demand

Present almost everywhere, selling almost nowhere

The striped track is the stores where each brand is present and in-stock; the solid fill is where it actually sells. For the leaders the two are almost identical. For Hullo they’re miles apart.

Present & in-stock → actually selling

present & in-stock  ·  selling  ·  Hullo. Label shows sell-through %.
Hullo is in-stock in 99.4% of the store-days we observe. The stores that don’t sell are stocked and available — they just don’t register a unit sold across the window.
Lens 3 · What the channel reaches for

What the channel reaches for: protein, single-serve

Two facts about bar demand on Blinkit place where Hullo’s range lands: what the shopper wants, and in what size.

Protein claim vs no claim

Value share of the category. A stated protein hook is what the fitness-led demand base looks for.
Protein-positioned bars sell roughly 15× more per store than nutrition bars with no protein claim. Hullo’s hero pack is labelled “nutrition,” and sits in the 6%-of-value no-protein-claim group.

Serve size — where units concentrate

Category unit share by pack weight band. The channel is a single-serve machine.
~93% of units are single bars (≤75g). Hullo sells only 120g & 180g multi-serve boxes — a considered purchase on a channel built for impulse.
Lens 4 · Flavour, format & pack

Where the category’s value actually sits

Reading the shelf by product attribute shows both the pockets that matter and where Hullo’s current range lands. Hullo plays in genuinely large flavour pockets — the question is format and single-serve, more than flavour.

Value share by flavour family

Chocolate and Nuts/Dates/Seeds anchor the category — both pockets Hullo already makes.

Format: whole-food bar vs wafer

Value vs unit share. Wafers over-index on units (cheaper, high-impulse); whole-food bars hold value. Hullo is a whole-food bar — the larger-value format.
Hullo is a whole-food bar, the format that holds 78% of category value. It matches the category on format, and differs on serve-size and price.

“The Mix” (120g) is effectively the entire Blinkit business. The 180g Nuts & Seeds box barely moves at ₹480, and the Mango and Honey lines are dormant listings.
Lens 5 · Price & value

Priced at the top of the shelf

Normalised per gram, Hullo is the most premium bar in the category — above even The Whole Truth, the clean-label benchmark. Premium clearly works here (The Whole Truth is a category leader), but it is earned with brand pull. Today Hullo carries the price of a leader while still building the demand of a challenger.

Price per gram — Hullo vs the reference set

Average shelf price ÷ pack weight. The number to the right is the typical pack price and average discount depth.
The Whole Truth sells at ₹2.2/g and leads the category; Hullo sells at ₹2.59/g, the highest in the category, at close to full MRP (≈6% off). The volume brands sit near ₹1.5/g.
Lens 6 · Geography

Where it sells: a Gujarat base

Ahmedabad and Anand — Hullo’s home market — show the strongest conversion. Mumbai and Delhi carry the most volume in absolute terms but convert a smaller share of the shelf they hold.

Top cities — presence, movement & conversion

Bar length = units moved (Hullo’s own). The pill shows city-level sell-through — how much of the shelf it already holds is converting.
Ahmedabad & Anand — Hullo’s home market — convert 25–50% of their shelf. The metros, which hold most of the distribution, convert 6–15%. Chennai, Patna and Jaipur carry it in 20–47 stores and register no sales.
Lens 7 · Momentum

The June lift didn’t hold

Weekly movement stepped up sharply in mid-June — selling-store count nearly doubled and units peaked — alongside a price that walked from ₹320 toward ₹299. It has since eased back toward the earlier baseline as the price settled.

The picture

What the shelf shows

Hullo is in about 970 Blinkit stores and sells in about 110 of them. In the other 860 it stays in stock the whole window — present, available, not moving.

The bar that carries it is a 120g box of no-added-sugar nutrition bars at ₹2.59 a gram — the highest price per gram in the category, which is otherwise mostly single protein bars at about a third of that. Its front-of-pack leads with “nutrition,” not protein.

The stores where it does sell cluster in Gujarat — Ahmedabad and Anand, its home market — which convert a quarter to half of the stores that stock it. The metros, where most of its shelves are, convert 6 to 15%.

The one time weekly movement jumped, in mid-June, the price had dropped from ₹320 to ₹299. It came back down when the price did.
